Big Circle
Full-church gatherings for the preaching of the Word, worship, communion and more.
It’s all about Jesus.
It’s true.
It’s ALL about Jesus. In a culture where everything is about ‘self’, God calls us to focus our gaze on what truly matters: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:2). “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power” (Heb. 1:3). He not only has the power to transform our lives, He Himself is life (John 14:6)!
And yet, even a cursory glance at the New Testament makes it clear that our relationship with God is not JUST about us and Jesus; it’s also about others. God commands us, through the author of Hebrews, to prioritize gathering together as His people (Heb. 10:25). Ever since the beginning of the Church, believers have gathered together weekly around the Word of God (Acts 2:46-47). Paul, in Colossians 3, encourages us to sing “to one another” in gatherings. In Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12 we are told that each believer is vital to the whole church in the same way our body parts are vital to our bodies. Our prayer is that you see regular Sunday gatherings as essential!
Sunday Morning Service
TIME: 10:00 AM
LOCATION: 59-578 KAMEHAMEHA HWY, HALEIWA HI 96712
To make the most of it…
-
Friendly, authentic community
Family-style service (all ages together during worship and the message)
Expository Bible Teaching (meaning we typically work through a passage of scripture as the theme of our sermons).
Outdoor, come-as-you-are atmosphere
Plenty of post-church hangouts, either at the beach or sharing lunch picnic style at the church (bring your own food).
-
In order to get the most out of our sermons, bring a Bible (or download the Bible app on your device). We typically use the English Standard Version (ESV) or the New Living Translation (NLT).
We also encourage you to bring something for note taking. Parents: this is especially helpful to review the sermon with your kids!
If you’re attending a Sunday service and you plan on sitting on the lawn, you may want to bring a beach chair. Families with young kids often have their keiki sitting on a blanket. We will usually have some coloring pages for the little ones. Soon we plan to have a nursery available (but not required) for ages 3 and under.
“How should I dress?” We’re a casual, sandy-feet-friendly church. Come as you are! But… please be appropriate.
-
On Sunday mornings we have a team ready to pray with anyone. Find them at the Connect area during the end of service.
-
Taking notes can be a great way to get the most out of the sermon. On most Sundays we will also provide a sermon outline (accessible via our main menu and QR codes in the connect area).
We highly encourage re-visiting your sermon notes later in the week to help retain what God is showing you. This can be a great exercise to do with your kids as well, and can go a long way in promoting a culture of family worship.
-
Because of our outdoor environment, choosing a seat could make the difference between attention and distraction! Pro tip: the further forward you are, the less distractions you will likely have!
Parents: we’ve noticed that young families tend to congregate in the same area. Do not feel like you need to follow suit! Sometimes moving to another area away from other little ones can help you keep your children attentive!
-
That’s right. Regardless of your background, we encourage you to show up ready to jump in. When it’s time to sing… SING! When it’s time to listen… LISTEN! When it’s time to greet others, pretend like you own the place and help others feel welcome. Together, we can host a great gathering.
-
Sticking around after service is one of the best ways to use your gifts to build others up in the faith, and allow others the chance to minister to you as well.
You may even want to plan to bring lunch and picnic with us for a bit after service.
-
We LOVE having families together during church. We want our kids to grow up feeling like they are an important part of it all (because they are), and seeing their parents worship Jesus.
We know this may mean a little more noise in our service, and we are good with it.
However, we do ask that you try to set a standard of quiet listening and participation for your kids. If they are being distracting, please kindly step away as needed.
We DO have a nursery for ages 3 and under!
